We’re here. For you. For life.

Hope Is Closer Than You Think

Similar to the nation’s most renowned community oncology clinics, Mission offers on-site labs and chemotherapy infusion suites, financial counseling, clinical trials, and multi-disciplinary tumor boards. At each of our 20+ centers, we assign a dedicated care team that will be made up of a physician and an oncology nurse as well as potentially an advanced practice provider, and/or a CNA. The care teams are led by the physician who will oversee and supervise all of your care and treatment.  Our team is eager to get to know you and how they can help.

Developing lifelong relationships with our patients enable our medical professionals to have a deep understanding of you or your loved ones’ specific cancer or blood disorder.

As we assess specific medical needs and history, we develop a personalized plan that is unique to each diagnosis. With locations all across Iowa, we are right in your backyard and right by your side — every step of the way.

All In One Location

During your visit to Mission Cancer + Blood, you may have labs drawn (if needed), see your provider, receive any treatments you may need, schedule follow ups and tests, and meet with a financial assistance counselor all in one location.

On-Site Labs

We have an on-site lab at each Des Moines location. Your provider receives the results in a timely fashion enabling them to quickly tailor your care and treatments.  Providing this service reduces the delays typically associated with labs drawn by other facilities.

Chemotherapy Infusion Suite

Each of our Des Moines locations has a chemotherapy infusion suite where we can generally care for patients and administer any treatment ordered by the Physician.  Treatments are mixed in an on-site chemo hood allowing patients to receive treatment in both a safe and efficient manner.

Outreach Clinics

Through our outreach clinics, Mission Cancer + Blood provides services to cities and towns within a 100+ mile radius of the Des Moines area. Through our associations with local hospitals in these towns our patients receive the same great care in or near their hometown.  Please see the locations tab on this website to see if we are serving patients close to you!

Nursing Staff

Our nursing staff is highly trained in oncology and blood disorders and work in concert with our providers to help coordinate our multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of our patients.

Financial Assistance

At Mission, we understand how stressful dealing with the financial impact of your care can be. We have a dedicated financial assistance staff that work directly with our patients regarding insurance coverage, copay assistance, and funding. Our financial counselors are located onsite at our Unity Point and Mercy locations. This team helps patients figure out of pocket cost of treatment, apply and secure funding if qualified, and help with annual renewals. Our team works one on one with patients to find customized solutions for our patient’s individual plans.

Genetic Counseling

The understanding of cancer’s genetic components in medicine is constantly growing, with new cancer susceptibility genes discovered every year that change how we screen for and treat cancer. Genetic counselors keep up with the latest information and implications of genetic testing results and are a great addition to our comprehensive oncology team.

Genetic counselors have completed specialized education to understand medical genetics, provide personalized risk assessment, and help patients make difficult decisions regarding genetic testing and managing risk or disease.
