Mission Cancer + Blood opens new Ankeny facility

(ANKENY, Iowa — Nov. 14, 2023) Mission Cancer + Blood, PLLC, has opened a new, state-of-the-art cancer care and treatment facility in Ankeny, Iowa. The facility, which opened Nov. 13, marks two milestones for the organization, as the 20th Mission Cancer + Blood location overall and first standalone clinic.
“Mission Cancer + Blood is committed to providing cancer care close to home, which we’ve done since 1981 through a network of hospitals, cancer centers and clinics,” said Phil Stover, Mission Cancer + Blood CEO. “Ankeny is one of the fastest-growing communities in Iowa, so providing patient-focused, innovative and accessible cancer care here aligns perfectly with our mission.”
The new clinic, located at 1950 SW Magazine Road in Ankeny’s Prairie Trail Development, is an addition to 19 outreach sites across Iowa — including MercyOne, UnityPoint Health and The Iowa Clinic in the Des Moines area.
The 11,000-square-foot facility offers a full range of oncology and hematology services including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, a full-service laboratory, genetic counseling, access to clinical trials and supportive care services. Seven physicians will staff the facility, in addition to nurses and operational staff. The clinic will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays.
