Mission Cancer + Blood clinic at John Stoddard Cancer Center to relocate to East Court Avenue

Renovations are underway for an upgraded clinic customized to deliver world-class cancer care from trusted Mission oncologists and care teams
September 4, 2025 – DES MOINES, Iowa – Mission Cancer + Blood, part of University of Iowa Health Care, is relocating a clinic that is currently located within John Stoddard Cancer Center this winter to continue enhancing delivery of world-class cancer care for its patients.
The relocated clinic will be at 110 East Court Avenue in downtown Des Moines, and will feature all new equipment and furnishings in a newly developed space. The clinic will offer the same suite of services and programs it does currently, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, on-site labs and a pharmacy, as well as genetic counseling and supportive care. Patients will continue to have access to cutting-edge cancer treatments through clinical trials, several of which are being administered jointly with UI Health Care in Iowa City.
For more than 40 years, Mission has been leading the way in cancer care in Central Iowa and beyond by collaborating with other health systems, offering evidence-based treatments, tumor boards, genetic counseling, and clinical trials by trusted oncologists and care teams.
In addition to this downtown location, Mission also operates more than 20 other locations across Iowa, with a unique community-based model that integrates its cancer clinics into other hospitals and health systems, allowing for seamless collaboration with referring physicians. The organization recently began opening stand-alone clinics, like a brand new clinic in Waukee. Mission has no plans at this time to relocate any other clinics that are embedded within partner health systems, including its location at MercyOne Richard Deming Cancer Center in downtown Des Moines.
Earlier this year, Mission officially became part of University of Iowa Health Care, paving the way for a statewide comprehensive cancer care network aimed at keeping high-quality cancer care local for Iowans. This provides patients enhanced resources from UI Health Care and its National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center, including access to a wider portfolio of clinical trials and rare cancer expertise.
Timing for the relocation is still being determined, and patients will be notified individually when they should begin going to the East Court Avenue location.
