An open letter to our patients, friends, and community!

To our Valued Patients, Friends, and Community:

We made it to the last week of an incredibly challenging year- one that brought a variety of emotions that quickly changed from one day to the next.Despite a global pandemic, a racial and cultural awakening, economic struggles, increased stress, general uncertainty and emotional fatigue, we are here at the end of 2020, together!

I want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank each of you for continuing to put your trust in our Mission Cancer + Blood team. Without a doubt, a favorite part of our jobs here at Mission is being there for YOU. Additionally, I want to take a minute to provide you with a message of comfort and hope for the new year.

While it would be naïve (and untrue) to think that January 1st will serve as a “light switch” we can flip and put all of 2020 behind us, there are positive indications we are moving forward. As the COVID-19 vaccinations continue to roll out, we can be confident in this first step to mitigate and contain the coronavirus. A lot more work needs to be done, but this is certainly a big step in the right direction. Likewise, it is my hope that each month in 2021 we see and experience glimmers of normalcy and a safe return to activities that bring us joy and peace. More time, patience and resiliency will definitely be required, but I look forward to seeing how the situation progresses this next year.

My sincere wish for each of you is that this new year brings you more joy, good health and connection with your loved ones – all things we could have used a little more of in 2020. As we leave this year behind, lets take what we have learned in 2020 and work to make next year better. Stay optimistic and lets all roll into 2021 with the belief that it can – and will be – a better year for all!

On behalf of the Mission Cancer + Blood team, thank you for being here with us.
